Operation T.A.C., Year 2.

Hello everyone, and welcome to our most recent post! This year we have been very busy and I have not been able to post anything, but we have made lots of progress this year. This year the theme of our robot competition is helping people in the educational field. The missions this year are very complex, and some require a lot of thinking through. One of these is a search engine, in which we have to spin a wheel with a variety of colors, detect a color, and select a ring that matches the detected color. Currently, we only have time for two missions, that includes eight different tasks being completed. We hope to be somewhere in the to %25 of the teams in the qualifier, and it seems likely, but we can never be sure.
We have also had two new additions to the team. Hannah, who loved working with the presentation team last year, was not old enough to be officially on the team. But she is a very diligent presentation member. And Jason, a genius programmer who pretty much figured out the search engine missions.
To conclude this post, our team seems to have a lot of potential, and we can't wait to see how we do at the qualifier.

Time on Wings

Wow! Time has really gone quickly! We passed the first competition easily. What a blessing! I am happy to announce that with six days until the competition at Lego Land we are pretty well off! We have had an amazing time with FLL and hope to meet some interesting teams at the competition! I think that after that, we will be doing some Battlebots battles to put on here. We can't wait until next year and really hope we have an awesome time waiting with battlebots!

Mission Vid.

Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't posted in a while! To make up for it I patched together a couple of different robot clips to make a little movie! So here it is...

Pre- Pre- Pre- prototype!

This is our pre- pre- pre- pre- pre- prototype! I don't think we have chosen a name yet for it yet, but it's still way before
the competition. We've gotten it to pick up some ring-a-ma-bobs, but that's it. I'll try to post something next Tuesday.

New Robot, YAY!

By Josten, from the operation TAC team.

Alright, we've finally received our robot, and our awesome master programmer, Titus, has already  roughly completed some programs! All we, (the programmers,) have to do is a little fine tuning and then we will already have competed some missions! Some teams have only just started figuring out how to make the programs! That means we have a great potential to win this competition!
Also, Chris should be emailing some videos to very soon and I will be able to show you what the robot looks like!

    Until then!

Lots of acronyms and a big bummer

By Josten from the Operation TAC team.

Ok, FLL is part of the robotics and engineering program called F.I.R.S.T. FLL stands for First Lego League. Our team name is named Operation TAC. *Whew* This blog will be about the successes, failures, and what we have learned about robotics in the time leading up to the competition.

Most recently we received the playing mat and testing table from FLL. But there is a conflict. FLL said they won’t send out the instructions on how to set up the table until, if I remember correctly, 6:00 AM, August 1. So, basically we have a big mat with a bunch of random lines on it and a pile of Legos to do nothing with. Bummer. Ooooooh well, I guess we’ll post again at 6:30 AM August 1! Be ready to wake up early! Until next time!
